The fine print, plainly
Honest about the details.
What exactly is a scan?
One shelf photo and everything Quillwort found in it: every book named, ranked to
your taste on request, each one locatable in the photo. Photographing several
shelves in a row uses one scan per shelf.
Do scans expire?
No. Purchased scans never expire, and nothing renews or lapses.
What if my photo doesn't read?
If most spines couldn't be read, Quillwort says so before showing anything and
offers a free retake — a bad photo doesn't spend a scan.
Is AI ranking extra?
No. Ranking a scan against your taste, your portrait, and the Goodreads import are
all part of the app, on every account.
Is there a subscription I should know about?
No. There is nothing that renews. You buy a pack when you want one, and it sits in
your account until you use it.
Is there a free trial or a free scan?
No. A new account starts with no scans. Scans are bought in packs of 10, 30 or 60,
once, when you want them.
